About ACCP Guidelines The American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP) has successfully provided clinical practice guidelines for many years. Over the last several years, an effort has been supervised by the ACCP Guidelines Oversight Committee to ensure that these documents move as close as possible to an evidence-based platform. The reader is invited to visit the Guidelines Oversight Committee website to learn more about the process of the ACCP in developing evidence-based guidelines. All of these documents provide the best available evidence-based recommendations for the particular clinical topics at hand, based on the system of grading and evaluation in place when each was developed.
