This is the web-based application for admission to the professional curriculum in veterinary medicine at the University of Missouri-Columbia for the class entering in August 2014. Read all material carefully. You will be expected to comply fully with instructions. Failure to do so may void your application.
The application should be submitted only by those applicants who fulfill all requirements as listed in the College catalog by the end of the winter semester or spring quarter, 2014. Applicants who plan to complete requirements in the summer immediately preceding anticipated entrance to the professional curriculum will not be considered. Applicants must be US citizens or have permanent residency.
The accuracy of your mailing address and phone number is very important. If it is necessary to contact you concerning your application, reasonable attempts will be made to the address and phone given. If these are inaccurate or not kept up-to-date, your application could become disqualified.
VMCAS requires a minimum of three evaluations, but you may submit a maximum of six evaluations. Letters of recommendation (External Evaluations) are required electronically. We require at least one evaluation be from a veterinarian you have spent time observing. Committee or Composite letters and letters from relatives by birth or marriage are not accepted at the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine.
The application processing fee is $100. You can pay your application fee by check or credit card. Upon the succesful completion of your application, you will be directed to a page with payment options. A service charge of $20 will be assessed for processing returned checks.
Official transcripts from every college or university attended must be submitted following VMCAS instructions & deadlines. If invited to interview by the Admissions Committee, official transcripts with Fall 2013 grades are required to be sent to VMCAS on or before February 1, 2014.
You should complete an application for the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT), take the tests, and have the results sent to this office. Only scores received by February 1, 2014 will be used in calculating academic evaluations.
Extra materials, such as letters from people not listed by you as an external evaluator, certificates, resumes, published articles, or any other miscellaneous information not requested in this application form will not be forwarded to the Committee on Admissions and will not be returned to you.
