Aga Khan University Examination Board
announced the revised timetable for its Secondary Schools Certificate
(Matric) and Higher Secondary School Certificate (Intermediate)
examination session. The theory papers across Pakistan will now begin on
May 14 instead of May 11 due to the election.
“AKU-EB takes pride in its efforts to make
sure that the May and September exam sessions, events, workshops and
other activities are conducted strictly as scheduled unless something is
completely beyond our control. We hope to continue this tradition for
all future activities and services. Our initial exam timetable was
published before the election dates were announced which caused a bit of
confusion among our candidates. We hope candidates are concentrating on
preparation. We wish them all the best,” said Karima Kara, Associate
Director, AKU-EB.
AKU-EB’s May 2013 Examination session will be
conducted at 32 centres in 28 cities across Pakistan; students will
attempt exams in more than 90 subjects. The practical examinations for
SSC have already been conducted as per schedule; however, those for HSSC
will begin from May 7.
“The number of our candidates is swiftly
growing so as the number of exam centres and cities we cover. We aim to
serve as many students as we can especially in areas where quality
education is currently inaccessible. We have a mission to improve the
quality of education in Pakistan and we want to bring the whole nation
along,” added Ms Kara.
The revised timetable has been sent to all
Affiliated Schools and Colleges. The Schools are advised to take
necessary measures to make sure both teachers and students are aware of
the changes. The timetable could also be viewed and downloaded from
