Undergraduate Degree Classifications 2012/13

The tables below list the degree classifications awarded to each college for the academic year 2012/13.
They also display an assigned 'Norrington score' for each college. The Norrington score, developed by Sir Arthur Norrington, former President of Trinity, in the 1960s, provides a way of measuring the performance of students at each college in finals. The Norrington score is based on the classifications of undergraduate degrees awarded and expressed as a percentage, rounded to two decimal places. It is calulated by attaching a score of 5 to a 1st class degree, 3 to a 2:1 degree, 2 to a 2:2 degree, 1 to a 3rd class degree and 0 to a pass, Honours Pass and Unclassified Honours. The percentage expressed is calculated by dividing the total college score by the total possible score the college could attain (ie number of degrees awarded per college x score of 5).
The score allows a ranking of colleges. However, since the numbers of degrees awarded per college are small, the rankings should be treated with caution.
Results recorded Trinity Term 2013, for the degrees of: B.A., B.F.A., B.Th., M.Biochem., M.Chem., M.Earth Sci., M.Eng., M.Math., M.Phys.
