While 150 Affiliated Schools across the nation enjoy the
transformation from a teacher centric to a learner centric environment
in their classrooms, AKU-EB has continued its efforts especially to
serve and bring along schools in the tough and remote regions such as
Gilgit-Baltistan, Chitral and Skardu.
As part of the same philosophy, AKU-EB recently conducted an AKU-EB Connect*
event in Skardu which was attended by 86 participants including faculty
from 16 schools in the city, academic managers, and parents.
The schools in
attendance were very eager to learn more about how joining AKU-EB in its
mission would help them grow and eventually help improve the standard
of education and assessment in their classrooms.
The participants at AKU-EB Connect appreciated AKU-EB’s innovative approach to assessments. The head of Candela School Skardu, Brig (R) Zakir said,
Through presentation and discussion, the participants learned about:“I have found AKU-EB’s approach to be very relevant to our present and future requirements. Although schools will have to work harder with AKU-EB but the (quality of) learning will build the future for our students.”
- the new advanced methods in teaching and assessment;
- how AKU-EB’s Middle School Assessment Framework (MSAF) is helpful in laying the foundation of learning and can develop new competencies in students at a very young age;
- how a thoughtful and systematic syllabus design and unique paper pattern of AKU-EB can dramatically impact students’ learning outcomes;
- how the professional trainings, performance feedback and close coordination from AKU-EB can help their school grow and stand out from the rest;
- how AKU-EB’s unique approach to teaching and assessment has helped alumni achieve their goals by obtaining admissions to the top universities nationally and internationally; and more
Sharing her views about the event, Mrs. Maryam Asim, Director Academics of Pepperdine School System, Skardu said,
“It is very interesting that AKU-EB provides extensive support to help improve the learning process in schools. We will certainly apply for MSAF this year and go for affiliation at SSC level in 2014.”
