To be considered for graduate admission to The University of Texas at Austin, you must meet minimum requirements set by the Graduate School. Requirements of individual graduate programs are often more rigorous than those set by the Graduate School.
Every graduate program sets their own deadlines and requires the submission of additional materials. These materials vary by program, but examples include letters of reference, auditions, samples of your work, and personal statements. Information about required materials is available from the graduate coordinator of each program.
Graduate admissions is a shared process at The University of Texas at Austin.
The Graduate and International Admissions Center (GIAC) processes approximately 30,000 applications each year from prospective graduate students.
Application, Transcripts, Scores and Fees to GIACApplicants submit the official online application, transcripts, test scores, and processing fees to GIAC. You may also indicate your interest in assistantships and fellowships on the application.
Transcripts and supporting documents such as statements of purpose, writing samples, or portfolios can be uploaded during the application process. Letters of recommendation can also be submitted electronically (for more information see Applying for Graduate Admissions).
International credentials are evaluated in the Graduate and International Admissions Center by our staff.
