LAHORE: The students suffer once again at the hands of the Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) as the board is failing to provide challan forms along with admission forms for the admission of Matriculation Annual Examination 2012, Daily Times learnt on Monday.
The students, parents, school owners and principals are facing problems while submitting the admission forms for matric examinations because of the missing fee voucher that should have been available with the admission form.
Earlier, the fee voucher or challan form was always provided by the board office along with the admission form, however, this time round the students and parents were directed to download the admission form and fee package from the board’s website.

However, the downloadable version available on the website does not contain the fee voucher, hence, creating problems for all those trying to register themselves for the matric exams.
Mother of a student, Amna, said that her daughter wanted to register herself for the matric exams, however, she was unable to pay the admission fee because of the unavailability of the fee voucher along with the admission form on the website, adding that the voucher was also not available in adequate numbers at the board’s bank.
She said that the bank officials provided the vouchers after more than an hour of waiting, and then distributed them among the students before she was able to reach and collect hers in time.
Separately, owner of a school, Yasin, said that he had to submit more than 150 forms of the students, but unfortunately the board officials neither provided the fee voucher on the website nor were the vouchers available at the bank.
He said that he talked to a senior official at the bank, asking him to provide them with at least 150 fee vouchers, however, he said that the vouchers were currently unavailable. He added that when he bribed a worker there, a bundle of vouchers was immediately sent to him.
Meanwhile, the Lahore Board spokesperson said that the board would not provide more than one voucher to one person because it had learned that some academies and private schools were minting money in the name of vouchers from innocent students. He said that to stop this mafia of academies and private schools, the board had decided to provide one voucher per person.

Lahore BISE announces results for Matric Supplementary Exam
LAHORE: Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) on Monday announced the result of Matric Supplementary Examination 2011. According to details, the passing percentage stood at 45.1 percent. As many as 29,864 candidates appeared for the said exam, of which 13,464 remained successful. The Lahore Board announced the result three days after the scheduled date of announcement, whereas other educational boards across Punjab have still not announced the result. Speaking on the occasion, Lahore Board Controller of Examinations Anwar Farooq said that the result was to be announced on December 15 and the board had successfully compiled and prepared the result before the announced date, however, it was unable to announce the result since it had been decided that all the boards would announce the result on the same day. He said that keeping in view the recent incident at the Rawalpindi board office, the Lahore Board decided to announce the results in order to avoid any bad law and order situation. staff report daily times
