In 1882, The University of Punjab (PU Lahore) started working as an authoritative body for conducing undergraduate, graduate and post graduate examinations under different faculties. Punjab University has its two main campuses in Lahore while two sub campus at Gujranwala and Khanspur. University of the Punjab is known as the oldest higher learning university in Pakistan.

Punjab University usually announces its annual examination date sheets a month before the exams commencement. University announces its annual examination date sheet for BA/BSc in March and for B.Com annual examinations, date sheets are announced in the month of March while for MA/MSc examinations, University announces date sheets in July.
