No sale or purchase plan for Ewing Hall situated at Neela Gumbad

LAHORE: Neither the Forman Christian College nor the King Edward Medical University administrations have even considered selling and buying college’s Ewing Hall, situated at Neela Gumbad.
Responding to a news item, FCC Registrar Dr Hamid Saeed on Monday said the college had not even thought about selling its Ewing Hall. “Why we will sell the Ewing Hall,” he said.
Dr Saeed also denied that the KEMU administration had ever approached him to even discuss the subject. He also refuted Young Doctors Association, Pakistan, office-bearers Dr Salman Kazmi and Dr Talha Sherwani’s claim of meeting the FCC administration calling it “baseless.”
Meanwhile, KEMU Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Asad Aslam Khan also reacted strongly stating that there was no consideration for purchasing FCC’s Ewing Hall. He also stated that YDA office-bearers’ claim was wrong and misleading that the university administration had contacted FCC administration on the issue.
Being head of a public sector institution, Prof Khan said he could not offer any body to buy property until and unless the owner would advertise to auction the property. “Anybody, who will sell his property would advertise to attract buyers and compete for a best price,” he added.
The PVC also said that Rs550 million was a big amount and no government official could talk or plan such big projects without any basis or homework. He said every educational institution in Lahore was short of hostel facility and looking to expand it.
PU results: The Punjab University on Monday declared the results of MA mass communication, economics and English Part-I annual examinations for 2012.
The PU also declared the results of MSc in Geographical Information System (Fall 2010) semester system, session 2010-12 and PGD in Human Resource Management (semester system) session 2008-09.
Student Expo: The three-day Student Expo organised by the Islami Jamiat Tulaba, Lahore, concluded at the Government College of Sciences on Monday.
Hundreds of students, teachers, civil society representatives and families visited the expo that also featured a book fair. Islamic books by Darussalam were also on display.
Speaking on the occasion, Jamaat-i-Islami Secretary-General Liaquat Baloch lauded the IJT for organising healthy activities in educational institutions.
IJT Nazim-i-Aala Zubair Safdar said this was an era of academic excellence, adding that only those nations would survive which would acquire modern knowledge.
