Islamia University declares results

BAHAWALPUR, Aug 31: The Islamia University Bahawalpur (IUB) declared on Saturday the BA/BSc and B.Com results of the annual examination, 2013.
According to the announcement, a total 11,639 candidates appeared in the BA examination and 5,398 among them were declared successful with a pass percentage of 46.3.
In the BSc examination, a pass percentage of 54.11 was registered as 305 candidates were declared successful out of total 5,549 candidates.
In the B.Com examination, only 99 candidates were declared successful out of 2,276 showing a pass percentage of 43.45.
All the three top positions in the BSc were clinched by girls.
The first position was captured by Aamara Bibi of Government Degree College, Ahmedpur East, with 700 marks, while the second and third positions were secured by Fazeelat Bibi (694 marks) of Punjab College, Rahim Yar Khan, and Iqra Anwar (691 marks) of Al-Noor College, Yazman, respectively.
In the BA exams, two of the first three top positions were clinched by girl candidates.
Aisha Sajid Durrani of Government Dubai College for Girls bagged first position with 704 marks, Hafiz Muhammad Israrul Haq of Government Postgraduate College, One-Unit, Bahawalpur, got second position with 677 marks and Hira Dilshad of Government Gilani Col-lege for Girls, Uch Sharif, secured third position with 676 marks.
In B.Com exams, Tayyaba Ramzan of National College, Hasilpur, stood first by obtaining 1,253 marks, Yasir Arafat of Kings College Rahim Yar Khan stood second with 1,216 marks and Adeel Hussain of Allama Iqbal College, Bahawalpur, bagged third position with 1,197 marks.
IUB Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Mukhtar gave away prizes and awards among top position holders at a ceremony held at Ghotvi Hall of the Abbasia campus on Saturday.
