Everyone wants a stable career and wants to move ahead on their jobs in Pakistan as well as jobs in Lahore and jobs in Karachi. People think that their career is moving ahead if they are doing their daily tasks and fulfill their responsibility efficiently but the truth is if you are making the following mistakes then it’s sure that you are damaging yourself and ruining your career success.
It’s good to play devil’s advocate once in a while but if you are always complaining then it will be harmful. No one appreciate the voice of negativity in the office; as people are there to work and for this they need calm and positive environment and if you are creating and spreading a sense of discontent then you are actually ruining the whole office mood.
If you need your boss guidance at every step then there is no doubt that you are losing your value as an employee. Your boss has hired to get some work done and it is your duty to figure out how to solve that problem without anyone’s help.
You don’t want to work out of your comfort zone. Suppose your boss came to you with a great project and wondering if you are willing to work on it, but if you don’t take that opportunity because it sounds stressful then remember that you are sabotaging your career because your boss himself is offering you a terrific opportunity to prove yourself but you are too scared to take the risk and wants to stay where you are in the career.
If you are not thinking to improve the organization as a whole, don’t like to give new and fresh ideas and just want to concentrate at your office job in Pakistan and job in Lahore then you are losing your value in the eye of your employer. If you want to move ahead in your career then it’s really important to constantly look for to improve yourself as well as the organization.
If you are not connecting with other people and avoid networking, don’t like to come out of your office and just sitting there while avoiding your boss, co-workers then you are hindering your success yourself. It is important to connect with people and seeing how other people and department are working to gain an insight of a bigger picture.
Lastly always keep in mind that the more proactive you are the better chances of you to find career happiness and success.
